Teen Depression

By Milos Pesic Everyone feels down at some point. Its normal to feel the blues. But if you are sad most of the time and the feeling is starting to affect your grades, relationships, and your behavior in many ways, then the problem may be more than just the blues. It may be teen depression, a serious illness that approximately four out of a hundred teenagers suffer through each year. How do you when youre depressed? Or when a friend might be depressed? The signs of depression are numerous that there is usually no hard and fast rule to identifying all the symptoms of teen depression. But the most important thing to remember is that there are generally two types of teen depression. Under the first type, you will find two other types of depression which vary only in their intensity major depression or clinical depression (severe) and dysthymia or chronic depression (moderate but lasts for a longer period). The second type of teen depression is referred to as bipolar depression, the depressive state of manic-depressive disorder, a condition wherein the subject suffers periodic bouts of mania or elevated mood and depression where the subject is often too low in energy that he would not be able to move. It would take a health professional to distinguish the particular type of teen depression. It is advisable therefore that you consult professional help when you notice any of the following signs of teen depression: * Persistent feelings of sadness (You cry a lot and for no apparent reason) * Persistent feelings of guilt, again, for no real reason (You feel like you are no good or are worthless) * Loss of confidence or low self-esteem * You feel as though life is meaningless and that nothing good will ever come out of it. * You always seem to be exhausted and you do not feel like doing the things that you used to enjoy a lot, like music, sports, being with friends, or going out. Most of the time, you just want to be left alone. * You keep getting distracted and you cant seem to concentrate. You also forget things, or you do things without any recollection of doing them. * Little things make you lose your temper. You get irritated very easily, or you overreact. * Your sleep pattern changes. Either you sleep more or you sleep less or you cant seem to fall asleep or stay asleep. You wake up too early most mornings and have difficulty falling back to sleep. Insomnia (too little sleep) or hyposomnia (too much sleep) sets in. * Your eating habits also change. You have lost your appetite or you eat a lot more. Weight gain or weight loss is drastic. * You think about death, or feel like you are dying, or you have thoughts about committing suicide, whether or not you have the energy to actually harm yourself. Couples Relationship Assessment Quiz - Part 9: Conscious Vision

By Glenn Cohen Do you know where you want to go? Can you and your partner clearly see your future together? A vision is imagery of your hopes, dreams, and expectations. In order to Co-Create a Conscious Relationship, you must define your vision. Your vision is a source of your personal power that motivates and inspires, both yourself and your partner. This assessment looks at how clearly you seeor dont see. This free set of assessments offers you the chance to find powerful answers. If you are willing to take the time to reflect on these questions, discuss them, and be honest with yourselves and each other, it can help you on your journey to Co-Create a Conscious Relationship so you can be Best Friends During the Day,
Lovers at Night, and
Partners for Life. The adventure of life gives us the incredible opportunity to learn and grow as individuals. I like to say that we do not stop learning, stretching, growing, maturing, and changing until we are 6 feet under. What happens so often is we go through life unaware that we dont know what we dont know. In this fast-paced world, many of us do not have or take the time to sit, take a deep breath, and really think about the statements addressed in these assessments. We usually do not reflect on and consider the impact the answers to these statements can have on our relationship. We must gain the awareness, learn the techniques, and practice the skills to Co-Create a Conscious Relationship. Take your time to think about each statement and be honest. One partner should use a black pen and the other partner a red pen. Rate your degree of agreement for each statement on a scale from 1 to 10, with 10 being a definite yes and 1 being a definite no. Write your score on the first line to the left of each statement. The second line is for your partners score. You may find it difficult to give certain statements a low score. You may worry that your response will hurt or offend your partner or create conflict. Honesty, however, is critical for the success of the Co-Create a Conscious Relationship program. Also, no matter what score your partner writes down, be supportive; do not get defensive, resentful, or angry. Thank him or her for being courageous and honest. All of the topics in this assessment series are covered in detail, with exercises, in my book The Journey from I-TO-WE. Conscious Vision

_____ _____ - 9 - We have been honest and shared our negative, self-limiting beliefs..
_____ _____ - 10 - We have made a commitment to learn, stretch, grow, mature, and change together.
_____ _____ - Total Score
You have 10 statements for a total possible score of 100. If your total is: 80 or higher -- You scored in the upper percentile Congratulations! You have obviously taken the time to work, ensuring your relationship has the best chance to be successful. Though your relationship is strong, it can only benefit from gaining new awareness, new skills, and new techniques. Good luck in Co-Creating a Conscious Relationship! 60 79 -- You scored in the average range Congratulations! Re-read the statements you scored low on and take the time to learn how to raise your score. Consider Co-Creating a Conscious Relationshipthrough gaining new awareness, new skills, and new techniques. You and the relationship will be much stronger on The Journey from I-TO-WE. 0 59 -- You scored in the lower range Congratulations! You now know where you need to take the time to closely examine these areas of your relationship. It would benefit both of you to think about these statements, and work toward Co-Creating a Conscious Relationship through gaining new awareness, new skills, and new techniques. Commit to each other to give unselfishly and unconditionally to do whatever you need to do to make each other feel safe, loved and cared for I hope this part of this assessment has been enlightening and helpful.
When you get a chance, take the next set of this assessment.
Keep the print outs for each so, at the end of the series,
you can trace your progress on your journey to
Co-Create a Conscious Relationship. I hope you and your partner

How To Find The Cheapest Skateboard Gear Online For The Best Price

By Dean Erickson The key to buying is to know what you want. That sounds obvious, but there are so many things to consider when buying a product that it's easy to get lost in the information superhighway that is the Internet. So, before you perform an Internet search for "skateboard online shop", or something like that, try searching for "about skateboarding" first. This will bring up websites filled with all the information you need to know. Read up on the history of the sport, the tricks, the boards, the gear. Work out what sort of skateboarding you want to do. Do you want to skateboard at a ramp, or on the street? Do you want to do tricks or just cruise around? Your answers will play a big role in choosing the type of board that will be best for you. So, once you decide on the type of skateboarding you want to do you'll be able to better match the type of deck (board) that's for you. There are so many skateboard decks to choose from. They come in various shapes and sizes and differing weights and strengths. There are flatter decks or more concave decks. There's a deck for everyone. Skateboard manufacturing companies are always looking to improve board design, so you'll find decks made of plastic or fiberglass, but the most popular type of deck is a wooden deck. The brand names abound: Element, Tony Hawk (the Michael Jordan of skateboarding), Girl, Habitat, Santa Cruz, Toy and Enjoi, to name a new. An Internet search will bring up the relevant websites. Browse through and read about board technology, sizes, shapes. The most popular deck is the standard 7 ply maple deck. The Habitat "Skylite" board is made of 5 ply maple, which makes it lighter, while the Element "Fiberlight" has a strip of fiberglass, which according to the company website, makes it able to better "withstand intense abuse". The width of the deck is also important. Wider decks (over 8") are more suitable for transition/vert work, while street tricks demand a narrower board. If you want to do both then an 8" deck is a good starting choice. If you just want to cruise around a wider board is more comfortable. Skateboards have wheels, and wheels come in a variety of colors, sizes and degrees of hardness. Read up on wheel diameter (height of wheel) and durometer (hardness of wheel). In short, remember that wheel size means speed and wheel hardness means stability. Shopping for skateboarding deals online is so easy if you take your time. Type "skateboard offers" into your favorite search engine and start browsing and comparing prices. Sites like Skateboard.com and Skatewarehouse.com are good places to start. While you are there think about getting yourself a pair of skate shoes. Speciality shoes will make your riding experience easier and safer. Skate shoes have a large flat bottom which is better able to grip the board. Some have heel airbags and gel pads for added safety. Also, think about getting yourself a helmet and other protective gear. It's not silly, it's smart. Dean Erickson. Journalist, and web site builder Dean Erickson lives in Texas. Aryan Nations to be Deported by Germany!

By David Ben-Ariel The Aryan Nations again misses a God-given opportunity to repent of their blind hatred of our Jewish brethren and prefer to believe the idolatrous ideas of deceived and deceiving men over the Word of God. The Word of God clearly states that legitimate Jews would again be living in and exercising sovereignty over Jerusalem and the Promised Land of Israel (not Ishmael!). The professing Aryan Nations presently refuse to submit to this scriptural fact of why the Jews are Judah and are distracted by murderous slander against the Khazars, basically calling God a liar and unfaithful to His Promises, adding to their sins that stink to High Heaven and will soon be dealt with, as they're defeated and deported alongside every other American, British and Jewish person by the fascist EU. What a twist of fate that the Aryan Nations' German savior will become their destroyer! The Anglo-Saxons and Jews will also get stomped by the German-EU jackboot for increasingly looking to the Beast like silly doves (about to get devoured) instead of to God to help solve our national problems. The so-called Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation will be baptized in the blood of many Englishmen, Joes and Jews! Beyond Babylon: Europe's Rise and Fall sounds the alarm but our people are too deaf, dumb and blind to recognize the seriousness of the times we live (and many shall die) in: ignorant and indifferent about German plans for WWIII! The misguided Aryan Nations have foolishly despised the ancient homeland and inheritance of all Twelve Tribes of Israel, the Promised Land of Israel, presently the Jewish Homeland (as the Jews are the pioneer tribe that God has sent to prepare the way for the rest of us to ultimately follow). The Aryan Nations have cut themselves off from our Hebrew roots in Eretz Yisrael, and so detached themselves from its physical and spiritually reality (like liberal Jews ironically!), far removed from Jerusalem, in exile in mind and in spirit, woefully ignorant of the fact that whereas the North American continent is most certainly a prophesied part of our biblical inheritance as clearly brought out in Herbert W. Armstrong's excellent book The United States and Britain in Prophecy, the tribal possession of Joseph, our original homeland deserves special honor and recognition as soon Jerusalem will again be restored as the capitol of all Twelve Tribes under King Messiah, Yeshua HaMashiach, the Anointed One Yeshua (Jesus), when Joseph and Judah end their sibling rivalry, repent of our personal and national sins and family feud, and remember the Law and the Covenant of our God that binds us together to become One Nation Under God, a truly United Kingdom! For Joseph and Judah,

Change is Essential for Growth

By Keisha Jones
Life = The property or quality that distinguishes living organisms from dead organisms and inanimate matter, manifested in functions such as metabolism, reproduction, and response to stimuli or adaptation to the environment originating from within the organism.

In my travels I have found that many people are opposed to change. Change is goodit is necessary and an essential part of our growth. My grandmother often says, It is an ill wind that never changes! That quote speaks volumes to me, as it should you. Being human (as if you didnt know! LOL), I understand that change is difficult and we are creatures of habit, however we are responsible for our own personal happiness and growth. Now, with that said, consumers are still not taking the obligatory concern for self and the time to read product labels and therefore are being seriously mislead into purchasing products that are harmful to the hair, skin, nails and ultimately the internal system. There is a saying that goes,If you dont care for self, no one else will! Ive also heard,Self preservation is the first law of nature."Those quotes are some of the most profound statements Ive ever heard. If we allow others to harm and exploit us, they willover and over and over again, until we become the wiser. So, do yourself a favor, while standing in the aisle of your favorite product, set aside 30 seconds to read over the ingredients list and discover the impurities you and yours have been exposed to. Become infuriated with the trickery utilized to gain our hard earned dollars; and then do something about it! Recognize your worth and beautyknow you deserve better! Enhance your self-esteem, spirit and skin by taking the time to think of self and know your worth only the best! Pamper YourselfYou Deserve It!

Bare Root Roses, What To Look For When Buying

By David Hallstrom The first thing to look for is the plant's grade.
Nearly all bare root roses sold today are grown in the field and are approximetly two years old. They are sold in three main grades.
Grade 1 is the best and most expensive grade. In order to obtain this grade the plants are required to have at least three strong cains, two of which must be at least 18 inches in length for hybrid teas anf grandifloras. The canes should be at least 1/8 inch in diameter. Grade 1 1/2 is the most popular grade due to it's lesser price. In order to obtain this grade the plants are required to have at least two strong canes which must be at least 15 inches long for hybrid teas and grandifloras. The canes should be at least 1/8 inch in diameter. Grade 2 is the least expensive grade. These plants are only required to have two canes 12 inches or longer. These plants can be a gamble as they may be stunted. Note: Measurements are for plants when dug from the fields. Sometimes the plant sellers will shorten the length of the canes for easier handling. The number of canes remain the same and usually the thicker the diameter the better the plant.
There are three main sources for buying roses.
Nurseries are normally more expensive but are usually the best places to buy your plants. Plants are normally kept in sawdust thereby allowing you to inspect the roots. Plants with badly damaged roots are less likely to do well and may not make it at all. Additionally, a nursery usually carries a large variety of new and old standards. Finally, a good nurseryperson can provide advice as to which plants do best in your area and climate. Mail order suppliers are normally less expensive and usually have a greater variety of plants than your local nursery, however you can not inspect the plants before buying and they sometimes arrive damaged. Furthermore, although most mail order suppliers are reputable a few are disreputable and ship very poor quality plants. Additionally, it is hard and can be expensive to return plants that you are unhappy with. Supermarkets are inexpensive but usually carry a limited variety of plants. Additionally the plants usually come with their roots wrapped in plastic, therefore you are unable to inspect the roots for damage. Plants can be treated roughly in supermarkets, not only by the people that stock them, but also by customers. Therefore, there is a much greater potential for damage.
Should you buy newly developed varieties or the old standards?
Which variety of plant you purchase depends on your taste and what is available for your climate. There are hundreds of varieties of roses, however I prefer the older time proven standards. They may not come in as many color variations but they are reliable, still come in a large variety of colors and are usually more heavily scented (I like to smell the roses). My two favorites are both red. The Chrysler Imperial is a full well shaped velvety dark crimson red flower with a rich delightful fragrance which grows on a heavily flowering medium height bush. Mister Lincoln has long buds with full open dark rich red fragrant flowers with long stems and grows on a tall bush with dark glossy leaves.
Roses, if properly cared for, can last years. Therefore, in order to obtain the most enjoyment from your plants it is a good idea to do your research. Spend some time looking at types, colors, shapes and sizes. Check catalogues, the internet, check out friend's gardens and if possible go to an arboretum or nursery. Look at and smell the roses before buying.

Pharmacy Technician - A Great Career Opportunity

By Scott Knutson Becoming a pharmacy technician is a great career opportunity. As a student you will need to follow the same path that an individual looking to become a pharmacist travels but only stopping short of completing your PharmD degree. A pharmacy technician serves both patients and the pharmacist. A pharmacy technician has duties that are both challenging and rewarding too. Median hourly earnings for pharmacy technicians vary by geographical location as well as by the level of individual experience. The variance is anywhere from eight dollars hourly to sixteen dollars and fifty cents an hour. The job outlook for pharmacy technicians is phenomenal. Any pharmaceutically based occupation will certainly be important now and also in the future. With people living longer and medicines becoming more sophisticated and numerous there is no way to go wrong with a career in medicine. Pharmacist and pharmacy technicians will always be in demand. Pharmacy technicians are more in demand due to the fact there can be as many as four technicians aiding one single pharmacist. Pharmacy technicians have several options for workplace settings. The overall duties will not vary greatly in the field of pharmacist technicians. The variations in workplace choices add just enough spice to the career opportunities to make becoming a technician greatly appealing. Seven of the ten jobs occupied by pharmacist technicians are in retail pharmacy positions. Retail pharmacy encompasses both independently owned or chain store pharmacy settings. Nearly two of ten pharmacy technician jobs are in hospitals. There are also miniscule proportions that belong to the obscure aspects of the pharmaceutical trade such as mail order, clinic and wholesalers. It takes grand people skills to participate as a pharmacist technician. Technicians that are successful are alert, organized, dedicated and efficient in their work. A technician should have an eye for detail and not be easily distracted. An independent reliable nature encourages the pharmacist for which you work under to be confident you can handle all types of situations. Your work is directly related to life and death in more ways than one. As a technician you will have to interact daily with patients, pharmacists, and various healthcare professionals. Teamwork is an important part of the successful career of any pharmacy technician as you will be working closely with pharmacy aids and pharmacists too. As a pharmacy technician your duties will vary greatly from those of any other health care professional but will relate directly to the duties of a pharmacist. Your responsibilities are receiving prescriptions sent electronically for your patients where by, you as a technician; have to verify the information is accurate and complete. Then the prescription must be prepared. These tasks take special attention to details. Prescriptions must be measured, counted, and weighed in some cases in order to for them to equal the dose requested by the physician for the patient involved. Technicians will label and price the prescriptions. Then the information has to be filed in an accurate and timely manner. There is no room for error in this type of career. The appeal to become a technician is probably not based on such things as workplace environment but it is an opportunity to breathe easy knowing pharmacy technician's work in clean, well ventilated work areas. All in all the desire to become a technician has to match the things we now know as vital and important to becoming a very dedicated and highly sought after technician of pharmacy. The World of HO Open Framed Motors

By Michael W.P. Ball Open framed motors for the majority of Brass Steam Locomotives and many Diesels still are in use since post World War II. They were a main stay to power the locomotive. These motors were all produced in Japan except for the Pitman Motor which was produced in the United States. About thirty five years ago the industry began changing over to the Can Motor. The Can Motor was introduced in new locomotives to be sold to the hobbyist. It wasn't until a few years later that the hobbyist could buy the Can Motor for personal use. Why the sudden change to the Can Motor? What reason for such a major overhaul? The following is a presentation of the reasons for those changes and the advantages as well. The open frame motor was a nightmare to keep running. There were several reasons for this. 1. The brushes and armature are exposed to the atmosphere. This allows dust particles which are charged to accumulate on the armature and adhere to the brushes. This alone can cause major problems electrically. It takes more power to turn the motor due to resistance and debris build up. That is it creates a resistance which bogs done the motor. 2. The accumulation of static charged particles deposited on the two brushes becomes an inhibitor to the rotation of the armature and grinds it down making the motor useless. These particles also can cause scaring on the armature which can make the motor useless. 3. The open frame motor requires lubrication at each end of the motor where the bearings are located. The manufacturers would place a pad around the motor shaft next to the bearings. Here is where you would lubricate the motor. The problem is that these pads would get old and shrink thus eliminating the lubrication process. 4. The best thing to do is tear down the motor and rebuild/replace the vital components except the armature. This can be a difficult process and very time consuming. It doesn't mean the motor is going to run any better. Open frame motors when left standing for any length of time, accumulate debris and generally won't run. The Can Motor eliminated all of these problems and is far more sensitive to electrical input than the open framed motor. It was almost impossible running an open frame motor at low speeds where the Can Motor is best suited operationally. The open frame motor is not really adaptable to the new DCC operations. This is the opposite for the Can Motor as it is suited for running of locomotives which have the DCC decoders on board. The Can Motors are smaller than the open frame motors which made it easier for the hobbyist to install the new motor. Joy Ball has been involved in the restoration and maintenance of a variety of Brass Model Locomotives. Through her years of expertise, Mrs. Ball has perfected the art of train restoration often spending countless hours preserving vintage Brass Locomotives to running condition of even the newest Brass Model Replicas. Terrific Advice Concerning Destination Weddings As Shared By Two Gurus On The Topic

By Norm Goldman Today Norm Goldman, Editor of Sketchandtravel.com & Bookpleasures.com is pleased to have as a guest, Denise and Alan Fields, authors of BRIDAL BARGAINS and the BRIDAL PASSPORT WEDDING PLANNER. Both are in bookstores nationwide or you can order online at WINDSORPEAK.COM. The Fields have been featured on the TODAY SHOW, OPRAH and DATELINE NBC. Thanks Denise and Alan for accepting our invitation to be interviewed. Norm: Please tell our readers how you started writing about weddings and why did you want to write about this subject matter? Denise and Alan: We began writing in 1989 as we were planning our own wedding; yep, we are still married today. As two starving college students in Austin, Texas, we quickly realized planning a wedding was a darn expensive endeavour. We wanted to know how to save money but still have a nice wedding without getting ripped off. We heard the horror stories from our friends and decided the world needed a consumer's guide to tying the knot. Bridal Bargains, our first wedding book, was the result of that effort it was first published in 1990 and now is in its 7th edition, with 500,000 copies sold. Our latest book, the Bridal Passport wedding planner (the Dollars & Sense Guide to Planning a Wedding) was published in December 2004. Norm: What in your opinion makes for a wonderful and unique wedding experience, where everyone would be left with fond memories? As a follow up, do you have to spend a great deal of money to have such a memorable experience? Denise and Alan: Think about the best weddings you have ever attended and what made them so memorable? Chances are it was a FUN event first and foremost. That might have been a combination of several factors, a unique setting, a great band, and so on. Focus on those factors when planning your own wedding. Conversely, realize there are many parts of a wedding that are expensive, but contribute little to the fun aspect of a wedding flowers, for example. No, you don't have to go bankrupt to plan a memorable wedding! Yes, you may have to make a series of trade-offs to pull it off, but you can save and still have a fantastic wedding. Example: instead of a fancy downtown hotel, you can rent a historic home that lets you bring in your own caterer. That enables you to hold the total cost down, way under what the hotel would charge. The key: you save money in ways your guests don't see. A bottle of house wine from a hotel might be $50; that same bottle from a wholesale club like Sam's or Costco would run $10. Do you guests know the difference? No. A destination wedding is another great way to save and you have a special setting for your wedding, without all the cost of a domestic affair. Norm: What tips would you have for destination brides who plan to bring along a wedding party? It's a growing trend for destination weddings to now have a fairly sizeable wedding party sometimes about 50, so it would be great to get their tips on group airline discounts, hotel blocks. Denise and Alan: Good news: the travel biz has awakened to the destination-wedding trend. As a result, many airlines and resorts have special discount packages for those planning a wedding. Airlines, for example, are courting destination weddings with special group discounts. Many resorts now have on-staff wedding planners to ease planning; and special discount rates for blocks of rooms. The best advice: work with the airlines group booking department and/or the resort's meeting planners. And always double check to make sure any special rate you get is really a deal and simply price the same stay or fare on a travel web site. Most travel companies honestly offer groups a better deal than regular travelers; but it always makes sense to double check. Norm: Could you tell us something about the advantages and disadvantages pertaining to different unique venue weddings as: beach, park, museum, mountain ski lodge, tent, train, yacht, and other sometimes off- the- wall sites? (Perhaps you can add a few of your own.) Denise and Alan: Name a destination and you can get married there---ski buffs can take their vows on a mountain top in Telluride, beach fans on the white sands of Aruba and so on. The key advantage of a destination wedding: you are already in the place where you will honeymoon. That cuts down on the travel, as you just travel once to both the wedding and honeymoon. With all unique venues and destination weddings, the biggest trade-off is control. You will have to trust a wedding planner at the venue to help coordinate the details. And that means not being a control freak. Many tropical venues may offer a stunning setting, but slim pickings when it comes to finding a photographer (there may just be one or two on an island). Ditto for other remote locales, like a ski resort. Norm: If you had to choose 5 ideal geographic wedding destinations from the point of view of ambiance, costs, etc, which ones would you chose and why? Denise and Alan: Hawaii is probably the best combo of both ambience and ease of use and no changing dollars into a foreign currency, a very developed tourist biz and so on. Specifically, we would recommend the north shore of Kauai in the summer; Maui or the Big Island in the winter. Mexico offers the best value for the dollar. A falling dollar has made foreign travel pricey just about everywhere, but the peso remains a relative bargain for Americans. Resorts like Cabo, Cancun and Puerto Vallarta offer that beach wedding (and Caribbean water) at a discount price. Top pick: Cozumel, for its excellent snorkelling. Telluride is our favorite mountain resort to tie the knot, summer or winter. Winter lets you enjoy a world-class ski mountain; summer is hiking, white water rafting. A selection of the top restaurants makes this a winner year around. Orlando is among the best bargains going and most airlines offer deals on air/hotel packages here and the raft of entertainment options is second to none. And its more than just Disney . . . you will find Universal, Sea World and a plethora of water parks. Norm: Do you have any tips as to how couples can get the best value for their dollar when they are honeymooning? Denise and Alan: Two words: shoulder season. The shoulder season is the space between high and low seasons. No, you probably don't want to go to a tropical isle in August. How about April? In the Caribbean, you can find great deals in the shoulder season after Easter but before summer vacation times. Hawaii is cheapest rate after New Year's until mid March, when spring break crowds end deals. Deals also abound in Hawaii in the fall, from Labor Day until just before Christmas. Hence, November would be a great time to go for a honeymoon. Fall is also a great time to visit the wine country of California or the Rocky Mountains on a honeymoon. Norm: What are the 5 most important factors, cost-wise, a future bride and groom should bear in mind when planning their wedding and why? Denise and Alan: Location, guest count, time of day and wedding style are the most important budget factors. Some thoughts: Location: Where do you envision the wedding? Reception? The location will drive much of the cost. A hotel reception is much more expensive than a home wedding, for example. Guest count. A no brainer this clearly impacts the budget! Time of day. A 2pm wedding is much less expensive than an evening affair, Why? Guests already have had lunch and are not expecting dinner! Brunch or lunch reception are also less expensive than dinner. Wedding style: Do you have envision a garden wedding? A beach-side ceremony? Or a formal Catholic mass? The style of your wedding is a major driver of costs. Norm: How does one go about finding out about the different marriage regulations around the world? Is there a web site that we can click on et voil we have the answer? Denise and Alan: Wish there was! Unfortunately, it takes a bit of surfing. Start by identifying which countries you are interested in: then Google their official tourism site. Most tourism bureaus now have wedding links on their front page . . . in a few clicks, you can find out the marriage requirements. Another idea: ask the concierge of the hotel or resort you are considering to be married at. Many now have wedding planners on staff. Norm: How does one go about checking on the reliability of a hotel or resort when it pertains to service, food, etc especially if the hotel or resort is located in another state, province or country? Denise and Alan: The web! Most wedding sites (including ours, bridalbargiansbook.com) have online message boards. You can chat with other brides and find other couples who have been married where you are considering . . . yes, that is possible! Of course, you can always ask for references from the resort, but this can be unreliable. Sites like tripadvisor.com have detailed reviews of resorts by travellers and that can be very helpful. Best wishes, Alan & Denise For over thirty- five years, Norm practiced as a Title Attorney and Civil Law Notary in Montreal, Canada. After his retirement from the legal profession, Norm pursued two of his passions - book reviewing and travel writing, implementing many of his research skills he had been practicing for 35 years. Norm and his wife Lily are a unique husband and wife team, writer and water colorist, who write and paint about romantic destinations and wedding destinations. Basically, they meld art and words in order to create an unusual travel story, which generates interest, particularly because of the fact that each painting appears to have been custom-made for the story-original story and original art.
Combining the watercolors with travel writing provides a softer, more romantic look at the places they visit. Exercise: Tai Chi for Mind, Body, and Spirit

By Stacy Tabb The practice of Tai Chi combines flowing movement and breathing techniques with mental and spiritual awareness to bring about a workout that benefits the mind, body, and soul. If you are experiencing a lot of stress in your life, then you may benefit from joining a Tai Chi class in your local area, or even getting a book or video from the library and learning the movements on your own at home. Tai Chi originated in China, where it is said that a Taoist monk by the name of Chang San-Feng witnessed a struggle between a crane and a snake. The crane attacked the snake with hard jabs of its beak, while the snakes soft and flowing maneuvers won the battle. The snakes movements were the inspiration for Tai Chi, which is now practiced not only in China, but all over the world. In practicing Tai Chi movements on a daily basis, it is thought that Chi (or the life-energy that flows through you body) is enhanced. If Chi cannot flow to certain organs of the body, they become malnourished, resulting in illness. Tai Chi exercises supposedly open up the channels for Chi to flow properly throughout the body, thus maintaining health, vitality, and energy. This graceful form of exercise has been known to help people regain strength, posture and balance. It can improve circulation while also bringing on a meditative state that assists in relaxation. A study in the Archives of Internal Medicine (3-8-04) examined 47 previous studies on the health effects of Tai Chi, and found that Tai Chi showed positive effects on: Respiratory and cardiovascular functioning Blood pressure Balance Arthritis, flexibility and strength Depression or mood Immunity If you are interested in finding a Tai Chi class in your area, you may want to check out your local Dojo or even a YMCA. This is a wonderful exercise for people of all ages, from the very old to the very young. It takes practice and concentration, and some people perform it consistently throughout their entire lives. Tai Chi can be a great addition to your workout regimen not only for the physical and mental benefits, but also for your spirit. Relationship Radio - An Interview with Jess Kennedy Williams about Heart Break Free Dating

By Jeff Herring Relationships and dating can lead to heart break, and we have all had our share of heart breaks. That's why I was intrigued by Relationship Coach Jess Kennedy Williams notion about heart break free dating. Intrigued, but skeptical. Recently on my Relationship Radio Show on AM 1620 Radio Sandy Springs in Atlanta, I interviewed Relationship Coach Jess Kennedy Williams, author of the number one dating book on BarnesandNoble.com Heart Break Free Dating. The basis of her approach can be found in this quote from her book "When it comes to dating, listen to your gut instinct, not your heart. Your gut tries to protect you from getting hurt, your heart has no clue what it is doing." The secret, according to Jess Kennedy Williams, is to focus on what you want. You do this by knowing your requirements, needs and wants. Requirements - These are the things you must have in a relationship - these are the deal breakers. If these requirements are not met, the relationship will not work. Needs - Needs are close to requirements in importance, but they are negotiable. If a need is not met, it will cause an issue in the relationship, but will not necessarily cause the end of the relationship. Wants - This is the gravy, the icing on the cake, to mix the food metaphors here. When you go out into the dating world with clarity about your requirements, needs and wants, and pay attention, you can accomplish two important things: 1) Protect yourself from getting into a relationships that cannot work long term, because you will be eliminating the outset those that do not line up with your requirements, needs and wants, and 2) Dramatically increase the chances of finding the person that does line up with your relationship map, and enjoy a sustainable long-term relationship. An Essay Might Help to Resolve Difficult Issues

By Elisabeth Grainstone We certainly do not need to look back at the controversial issues to understand the scopes of the problem; we have got a lot of them now. Nevertheless, it might be useful sometimes, to recall how these issues can be resolved in clear and transparent way. Consider, for example the fight for the rights of the animals. In 1992 in Michigan there were attacks on the animal laboratory at Michigan State University. Another laboratory at the Washington State University suffered from the attacks as well. Some research offices were seriously damaged in the acts of arson in Utah. There were controversies, and these controversies exist now- despite the fact that more than fifteen years have passed, there is still a huge disagreement between those animals rights activists who claim that computer simulations are as good as animal research, and those scientists who insist that the researches on the animals are indispensable for the furtherance of their scientific work. Undoubtedly, according to many scientists the animals are really indispensable for their research. After all they are used to help humans in their grapple against mortal and incurable diseases. For example pigs are used in the researches on diabetes and vascular diseases, dogs are used s, as steadfast and ones of the most reliable companions for people with disabilities; they play crucial, and sometimes vital role in the law enforcement agencies, other examples can be easily provided to support the assertions of scientists that animals can be used to assist people. Yet, nevertheless, these facts can hardly convince animal activists. Lorraine Hough office in 1992 took the role of leader in the fighting against growing public antipathy to the scientists who conducted the research on the animals. According to Gallup Poll 2 of 3 American teenagers supported the rights of the animals. Hough was the director of The Texas Society for Biomedical Research. Thus the society decided to launch bold and interesting experiment- it announced the essay contest for school children Why animals are important to Biomedical research. Yet, despite the fact that the company provided financial incentive more than $250 and $500 dollars in prizes, it was nevertheless difficult to find the participants. Today this is an annual content in the Texas Society of Biomedical Research. Certainly, it is not easy to answer the question whether the experiments on the animals are really painful and intolerable for them. What is certain, that unless the scientists have found the cure to the innumerable human diseases-the experiments on the animals will continue and the controversies that surround them will not abate. How can the society resolve this strange and controversial problem? Clearly the arsons and vandalism are not the best options. Certainly, the information and discussion are the best steps that should be taken. Essays and research papers that can highlight this problem can answer impartially and objectively to the question that concerns so many activists and scientists all over the world. The essays designed exclusively by highly skilled and professional writers who have gained vast experience in the research of the experiments on the animals and their consequences. The outstanding highly argumentative research provides you with incredible and unique highlight of the existing problem, allow you to understand more clearly the issue that has already become irresolvable for so many people. The Basics Relating to Alcohol Detox Programs

By Calvin Kuefer An alcohol detox program is a process that a person who has a chronic alcohol problem can use in order to get sober, as well as remove the toxins that alcohol contains from their bodies. Many people who take part in such programs often find that they are extremely necessary, as their lives are at risk, but that they are also extremely difficult. Most alcohol detox programs will take place in a medical facility, as when detoxing from alcohol abuse it can be fatal. This is because often the alcohol has been in the body for a long time and when it is removed a person's body will react violently. In most cases a person is likely to convulse as well as becoming nauseous and certainly for most people these reactions are very uncomfortable. When a person is having an alcohol detox during the first stage they have to deal with withdrawal (no longer will they be allowed to consume any alcohol whatsoever). With any form of alcohol abuse, a person's body has become dependent on the alcohol, and during the withdrawal process the toxins that were included in, and produced by the alcohol in the body, will begin to be removed from it. Often many people who take part in an alcohol detox problem will not be prepared both mentally or physically for what is about to happen. So a detox facility they will be provided with therapeutic and emotional counseling. However, these stages of the detox program can only begin once the person has actually completed the withdrawal process. The detoxification process for any one who abuses alcohol is a way of helping to rid the body of the substance which it has become addicted to. In most cases their diet will be altered to include plenty of foods which can help to aid the detoxification process and additional supplements etc. In some cases people who have done an alcohol detox program will find that they losing the physical cravings for alcohol altogether. Although an alcohol detox program is the first step on the road to recovery for many alcoholics, if they do not carry it out properly they will find that it has no beneficial effects whatsoever. In some cases they may find that they actually return to using alcohol once again.
